Ginger Gold

What's it like?

It exhibits all the excellent qualities of a 'Golden Delicious'. It has a texture and sweetness similar to the 'Golden Delicious', but with a unique, mildly spicy flavor that makes it best eaten fresh. 'Ginger Gold' is very slow to turn brown so it's an excellent choice for any fresh cut apple use. This is the best early season, yellow apple around!

Background

'Ginger Gold' was discovered as a chance seedling in an orchard outside of Charlottesville, Virginia. Though related to the 'Golden Delicious', it ripens up to six weeks earlier than its parent. Can't wait for your favorite apples in the early fall? The early ripening 'Ginger Gold' will satisfy your need for a great snacking apple.
